Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon 2025

VDHM 2025 was the first race of that season's Procam Slam. I had not yet decided whether I wanted to complete the entire Slam, but there was never much doubt about running Delhi. I wanted to be at VDHM, so I signed up and let the larger goal wait.

I had trained throughout the summer and set a new 10K personal best at the Dwarka Monsoon Run, but September changed everything. A trip to Ladakh ended with pneumonia, an emergency flight home, and five days in hospital. I lost a great deal of weight, reached my lowest body weight in a decade, and went into VDHM feeling weak and without having been able to practise properly after the illness.

Running in my own city always feels special. The October weather gave me a beautiful morning for a half marathon, while the Central Vista and the turn around India Gate made familiar roads feel exciting again. I pushed from the start, never stopped, and kept asking for the best pace I could sustain.

That made the result even harder to believe. Despite the illness, lost training, and weakened body, VDHM 2025 became my best half marathon yet. I set a new personal best, thoroughly enjoyed the run, and crossed the finish line surprised by what my body had still managed to do.
